MITR Races & Events
In addition to our weekly social runs, we have a variety of off-kilter events throughout our season (Apr–Dec). Some of them are below, but many are one-offs, so sign up for our updates to stay in touch. But whatever you do, expect shenanigans.

A 6-hour trail race (solo or team) with a strategic MITR twist. Proceeds benefit the Orono Land Trust.

Maine's most unnecessarily complicated trail race and a flash mob in support of public access to private lands

Each year we challenge ourselves to run more and run weirder.

Adventure Run du Jour
During the season (Apr-Dec) there will be one to many pop-up adventure runs to various Maine trail destinations.

Father's day weekend(ish), we do a lap of Marsh Island, stopping at every place that sells donuts (there are 7!!) to "support local business."

A few start, many join along the way, all finish together at Orono Brewing Company for lunch. One to 17+ miles. Which trail crossing will you start from?

Turkey Trot
A November trail run to front load festivities. Turkey costume is "optional."

During the Millinocket Marathon and Half (~1st Sat in Dec), we join other clubs (and anyone else!) to form the "B Team"and run in bee costumes with our keeper.

Jingle Run
A December 5k in downtown Orono and through the Stillwater River Trail Festival of Lights, while decked in lights ourselves and singing loudly.

Soup-R-Bowl
Our running season closer: a soup potluck in January with the drawing of the Run Bingo prizes.

MITS
During ski season, we sometimes rebrand ourselves as Marsh Island Trail Skiers to keep the party going on Mondays.
